Collin Connor, MD
Dr. Connor graduated from Emporia State University (ESU) with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry. He attended medical school at the University of Kansas Medical Center. He completed his family medicine residency at Ascension Via Christi in Wichita, Kansas. Dr. Connor did not always know he wanted to be a physician. It wasn’t until after he spent a year working as an AmeriCorps volunteer at a free medical clinic in Providence, Rhode Island that he realized that’s what he wanted to be. “After that experience, I knew I could use my gifts of teamwork, listening, and problem solving along with my love for learning and science to serve others. I also felt like it was a calling from God, especially how everything fell into place for me to apply and be accepted into medical school in just a few months. When I finally made the decision to apply for medical school I felt a lot of freedom. I had never been willing to attempt something so important or difficult if I knew that I may fail, but by entrusting the decision to God I felt at peace,” he said. In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his family, listening to music/podcasts, reading, playing or watching almost any sport, and gardening. He plans to learn more about hunting and fishing and will be going on an elk hunting trip next year. Dr. Connor and his wife are both native Kansans and believe CHCS is a perfect fit. They will reside in Onaga with their three sons.

Julia A. Ingwerson, APRN-C, holds a bachelor of science in nursing degree from Washburn University and a master of science in nursing from Wichita State University. She is certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center as a family nurse practitioner. Ingwerson takes a special interest in foot care and orthopedics. David Cancelada, MD
Dr. David Cancelada attended the nation’s military medical school at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences (USUHS) in Bethesda, Maryland. He completed his surgical training at Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio, Texas. He is board-certified in both general surgery and surgical critical care. He has 25 years of experience in the U.S. Army, which included assignments in numerous military medical facilities to include the U.S. Army Burn Unit, multiple deployments to Iraq as commander of a forward surgical team, as well as Honduras and Haiti in support of the 2010 earthquake disaster. Military decorations include the Bronze Star and the Legion of Merit. He and his family moved to Kansas in 2006 when he was transferred to Fort Riley, and since leaving the military in 2010, Dr. Cancelada has continued to serve the people of Kansas as a general surgeon. Dr. Cancelada’s professional memberships include Fellowship in the American College of Surgeons (FACS), the Eastern Association for the Surgery of Trauma (EAST), and the American Society of Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery (ASMBS). His interests include trauma/critical care, bariatric and anti-reflux surgery, cancer (breast, colon) surgery. Hospital memberships include Community HealthCare System and Stormont-Vail Medical Center (SVMC), where Dr. Cancelada is an active member of their Level 2 trauma service as well as Course Director for their Advance Trauma Life Support (ATLS) training program. Dr. Cancelada is also an assistant professor of surgery at USUHS and a preceptor for the Kansas State University Physician Assistant Program.

Cassandra (Cassie) Gaddis has extensive experience in the social work field including child welfare, implementation and supervision of clinical services, and medical social work. She earned both her Bachelor’s and Master's degrees in Social Work (MSW) from Washburn University. She has also achieved the highest level of social work licensure in Kansas; a licensed specialist clinical social worker (LSCSW) certification. A nationally certified Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapist (TFCBT), she has experience serving children, adults, and families. Gaddis is also a certified sex therapist (CST) with specialized training and experience treating children and adolescents who demonstrate unsafe sexual behaviors or boundaries, treating survivors of sexual assault or other unhealthy sexual dynamics, couples struggling with intimacy in their relationships and other sexual health and mental health related concerns. Gaddis has 3 children as well as 3 dogs and 3 cats. She states she is a home body and could spend hours in her sewing room piecing together a quilt. She also enjoys camping, gardening, canning and food preservation, and anything that makes her feel more grounded and in touch with nature.
