Breathing is something everyone does - 24 hours a day, 7 days a week – usually without giving it a second thought. However, people who live with respiratory conditions think about it all the time. So do we.
Our healthcare professionals at Community HealthCare System provide respiratory care, education and services by Registered and/or Certified Respiratory Therapists that are specially trained to a wide array of patient clientele.
They assist patients with breathing difficulties such as:
Asthma
Birth defects
Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD)
Chronic bronchitis
Cystic fibrosis
Emphysema
Heart attacks
Lung cancer
Shortness of breath during exercise
Sleep disorders (sleep apnea)
Trauma victims and surgery patients may also receive respiratory therapy. Respiratory therapy can help patients reduce the amount of time they spend in the hospital and can improve their stamina, independence and quality of life.
In addition to treatment, respiratory therapy also includes education and diagnostic testing.
