CHCS is changing the visitor policy at Onaga Community Hospital effective Friday, August 13.
- Hospitalized patients will be allowed two designated visitors for the length of their entire stay. Patients will select the visitors, who will be given a wristband they will need to wear to indicate their status as a designated visitor.
- OB patients will continue to be allowed one designated visitor unless their physician approves additional visitors.
- Visiting hours are 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.
- No hospital visitors under age 17 will be allowed.
As has been the case for more than a year, and as required by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), all who enter the hospital are required to be screened for COVID-19, and all are required to wear a mask properly throughout their visit.
Chief Nursing Officer Mindy Olberding said new measures have become necessary because of the rapid spread of the delta variant of COVID-19.
“Our focus is to protect our patients from potential exposure to COVID-19 given the high rate of community spread,” Olberding said.
Clinic patients will continue to be allowed two support persons as long as those individuals are screened and masked.
