In June 2020, CHCS partially reopened its Fitness Centers after the initial COVID-19 shutdown. At that time, following a lengthy shutdown, CHCS tested the Onaga Rehabilitation and Fitness Center pool and discovered significant issues with the equipment. Dr. Tom Walsh, who moved back to Onaga in 1975 to practice medicine with his father, has announced that he plans to retire by the end of 2021.

UPDATE May 14, 2021: Our clinics can now vaccinate anyone age 12 and older. Please note the following.
Parental consent is required for those under age 18. The Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine is the only type approved for ages 12-17. It requires a second dose 21 days after the first dose. NOTE: This article has been updated to reflect the Governor's announcement that Kansas will move to Phase 5 on Monday, March 29. Phase 5 makes all adults age 16 and up eligible to receive the vaccine.

The new administrator of St. Marys Manor didn’t need a full tour on her first day. Shannon Heim, who started in early March, already knew her way around because she is the third generation in her family to care for residents there.
