Community HealthCare System (CHCS) was recently awarded a $75,000 grant from the Sunflower Foundation to support implementation of an integrated care delivery model to increase access to behavioral health services. CHCS will receive the funds over the next nine months as grant milestones are met.
“We are grateful to receive these funds from the Sunflower Foundation,” said Todd Willert, CHCS Chief Executive Officer. “These funds will help support our continued effort to provide enhanced behavioral health resources to our communities. Access to these services continues to be a top priority and these grant funds will help support additional staffing needs, technology enhancements and items necessary for us to provide extended behavioral health services,” Willert said.
Merica Surdez, Chief of Provider and Clinic Operations at CHCS added, “Implementation of an integrated care model will help us address and create comprehensive treatment plans for those seeking behavioral health services. As we continue to see a tremendous need for mental health services, these funds assist in creating greater access to care and will also help improve health outcomes for our community members.”
Funding for this project was provided by the Sunflower Foundation: Health Care for Kansans, a Topeka-based philanthropic organization with the mission to serve as a catalyst for improving the health of Kansans.
